What is the Program?
The Imagination Library of Grayson County is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income. And with so many competing priorities, this no-cost program for parents is also a great way to encourage bonding, contributing to the family's overall well-being.
Why?
90% of brain development happens in children before the age of 5
In 2022, 68% of children entering kindergarten had never been read to.
More than 80% of low-income families miss the 3rd grade reading proficiency milestone.
2/3 of students who cannot read proficiently by the end of 4th grade will end up in jail or on wellfare.
